During this stage, we complete your intake, set up your system access, and establish your official baseline metrics.

This baseline is used to track your growth and measure your progress throughout the program.

You cannot begin Phase 1 until all onboarding requirements are complete.

The Viability Phase is a structured 90-day development cycle where artists build their catalog, improve their sound, and prepare for evaluation.

During this phase, members are expected to consistently create, write new music, complete demos, and develop a market-ready test record.

Progress is evaluated through the Market Viability Assessment (MVA), where standards must be met across multiple categories at the same time.

If those standards are not met, a new rebuild cycle begins with higher expectations, requiring new material and continued growth before the next attempt. You get a total of 3 attempts 9 months max before being removed from the program and asked to reapply.

The Market Viability Assessment (MVA) is the checkpoint used to evaluate your progress and determine if you’re ready to move forward.

It measures your consistency, catalog growth, engagement, and overall development as an artist.

Your progress is reviewed across five key categories:
Development Hours — your verified time and effort invested into your development
Professional Discipline — your consistency, preparation, and overall work ethic
Marketable Barrier — how competitive your music is from an industry standpoint
Consumer Barrier — how real listeners respond to your music
Growth Metrics — your measurable progress from your original starting point

These categories ensure that advancement is based on real development, performance, and results—not just time spent.

Phase 2 - Development Phase

The Development Phase is where artists transition from development into real-world execution.

After passing Phase 1, members focus on building their brand, releasing music, and developing the professional infrastructure behind their career.

This phase emphasizes execution—real releases, audience growth, and market presence.

Artists may pursue independent growth or align with partner opportunities while preparing for fundraising and next-stage expansion.

Fundraising Support

Fundraising support is available for artists who are ready to execute larger-scale campaigns and expand their reach.

When appropriate, The Hive works alongside strategic partners to help plan, structure, and manage fundraising campaigns that support marketing, production, and audience growth.

Fundraising opportunities are evaluated based on audience strength, engagement, and overall market readiness—not all artists will qualify.

Campaign results help determine the scale of the artist’s next stage of development.

Partner Opportunities & Pitch Process

As artists progress through the program and demonstrate readiness, they may be considered for partner opportunities.

These opportunities can include production support, management alignment, or strategic collaboration with Hive partner companies.

Artists are evaluated based on their development, consistency, and overall market readiness before being positioned for partner pitches.

Partner alignment is not guaranteed and is based on fit, timing, and performance within the program.
